It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

Hey everyone! It's officially my favorite time of year: Christmas time! I'm probably the biggest Christmas nerd you'll ever meet. I start listening to Christmas music in October, count down the days, and of course, love decorating for the holidays!

For my room (by the way, you're technically not supposed to call it a 'dorm room', so when I refer to my room I'm talking about my college room) I decided to decorate in simple yet classy ways. I stuck to the basic Christmas colors of red, green, and white but added a little glamor with glitter. I hope you like.

In my hall, each room has their own little personal board to decorate outside their door. Sadly, our hall has been having problems with people ripping them off, so I decided not to invest too much in this. I got glitter and red/white scrapbook paper from Michaels, a big bow from Dollar Tree, and viola.

I love how the red and white pops against the black table. It makes the room look polished and classy. The nice thing about these jars is that I can keep them for the entire year and fill them with other goodies. If you have any ideas for spring, let me know!

I love this little sign I made. I wish it was bigger, but that frame was all I could find. It took forever to cut out the letters and glue them to the circle, but it was worth it.

Another decorating tip for college students: Make use of the space you already have. For this, I decided to buy cheap boxes from Dollar Tree and fill a jar that used to contain M&Ms (yeah, they were addicting) with candy canes to bring holiday cheer.

This is what the kitchen area of my room looks like overall. I decided to mix all three Christmas colors to create a classic look. For the candy canes on the wall, I tied ribbon to the top and hung them under the sign. Cheap and cute!

Another cheap and cute decorating idea: Get a packet of multicolor bells from Dollar Tree, tie ribbon around them, and hang them above your closet. It really adds to the Christmas spririt and can easily be done in small spaces.

So this is my lovely room during Christmas time. Sorry that the picture quality isn't perfect; I'm using my iPhone since I still haven't learned how to use my camera. Woops. Anyways, since I love Christmas time  so much, you can expect even more posts about the holidays coming soon. Also, I'll be posting pictures of my room with decorating ideas as soon as possible. Happy Holidays!

Welcome!

Hello, lovely readers! If anyone is actually reading this, thank you so much for checking out and supporting my blog. I'll try not to let you down. Ever since my roommate brought Pinterest into my life (thanks, Beth Anne!), I've been addicted to everything related to interior decorating. However, although I love Pinterest, I also come up with my own ideas and will be posting them here. I'm planning on posting lots of interior decorating ideas that college students can easily create with limited time, space, and money. Hope you continue reading!
